From the John Butler Trio (an Australian band whose albums have gone platinum down under) here is "Don't Wanna See Your Face No More"...

New Song Sunday - "The Do" Over

from the family photo album, my big sis & a boy, circa 1972

How can I convince you how great this band is - by posting another of their songs, of course.

"The Do" lamenting a lost, yet useless, lover:

New Song Sunday - Playground Hustle

"Victory!"

A duo from France,  The Do (pronounced like dough) have enjoyed the success of their debut album overseas since 2008. The U.S. release was only last week. They use an incredible range of instruments which combine to make a thoroughly unique & modern sound that doesn't take itself too seriously.

New Song Sunday, Vie en Rose

And now for something completely different....
from the indie duo Pomplamoose.
This is a 'VideoSong', where
"1. What you see is what you hear. (No lip-syncing for instruments or voice)
 2. If you hear it, at some point you see it (No hidden sounds)." (wiki)

c'est magnifique, n'est-ce pas?

absurdly brittle

I stumbled across this song one day, and fell in love with the sad yet whimsical way it portrays the absurdly brittle nature of our emotional bones. Her voice sounds like how a poem feels...

Breakable - Ingrid Michaelson

"...And you fasten my seat belt because it is the law
In your two ton death trap I finally saw
A piece of love in your face that bathed me in regret
Then you drove me to places I'll never forget
And we are so fragile,
And our cracking bones make noise,
And we are just,
Breakable, breakable, breakable girls and boys..."

music fairies

The music fairies must have paid me a visit, because I found a mysterious cd lurking on the floor of my closet. It's by "The Tah Dahs" (whom I've never heard of) and it's called "Le Fun." As everyone knows, music fairies can be very tricksey - you never know what you're gonna get. In this case, I was in luck... here's a taste:

Alcoholic by The Tah Dahs on Grooveshark

In fact, I’m diggin this whole album – it’s a little rough around the edges, but tres fun
